Get Ready For 2012 Now!

ChurchSync Gets You Ready For 2012!
ChurchSync Will Get You Ready For 2012!
As 2011 is quickly approaching its final days, lets take the time to put ourselves in remembrance of all that happened for us as a church, organization and leadership team this year. Let's look back at the events, outreaches, services, and growth we achieved. As we do this, be sure to measure and track your results, successes and failures.

This is important because as we head into the new year we want to maximize all we do and learn from what we've done. We also want to see if what we did should be done again or after we evaluate it maybe we should cut it out completely.

Put everything into categories.

Events: Fall Festival, Harvest Party, Seminars, Conferences
Outreaches: Soup Kitchen, Clothing Drive, Celebrate Recovery
Services: Sunday & Wednesday Services, Guest Minister Services, Holiday Services
Fundraisers: Gift Auction, Yard Sale, Thanksgiving Pie Sale

Once you have them separated, begin to go over each one individually with your leadership team and write down your answers to a series of questions.

For example, ask yourself and your team these questions regarding each area:
What was the purpose?
Did we achieve the purpose we intended?
Did we serve the overall mission in this purpose?
What were the results?
What is it specifically, step by step that we did to get the results we got?
What can we do differently to improve the results and achieve a more successful result than we did?
Did we give it our best?
Did we do it at the best time in order to produce the best results? If not, when would be better?
Did we prepare properly or could we have prepared better?
Did we have the right people in place?
What was our Strengths for this?
What was our Weaknesses for this?
What was our Opportunities that we DID take advantage of and that we DIDN'T take advantage of?
What were the Threats that came against us that we recognized and prepared for and that we DIDN'T recognize and were caught off guard with?
Did we maximize the (event, service, etc...) after it was done with a strong follow up process to reconnect the people back into the church?

Your answers to these questions hold the potential for you to grow and succeed by leaps and bounds for 2012. Failure to change will result in similar results and stagnant complacency. This is something that most ministries, churches and organizations WILL NOT DO. Many churches do NOT want to do the work necessary for them to get greater results. Take the time to do this for the benefit of your church and the people the Lord will send to your church next year. Preparation time is never lost time. The time you invest into proper preparation will translate into better results and more organized events, services, outreaches and fundraisers.
Take inventory of your team.

Look over each person who is in your key paid and non paid Leadership Roles and ask yourself these questions:
Are they in the right places they need to be in for this next year coming up?
What is lacking in them as a leader?
What can I do to help make them the best leaders possible for their positions?
What responsibilities are they over?
How have they handled and managed those responsibilities?
What motivates them as a leader?
Am I providing them the right tools necessary to help them reach maximum results in their positions?
Does my team know what I expect from them?
Do I allow them to think creatively and influence the areas they are over?

Jim Collins, Author of, "Good to Great" said, "People are not your greatest asset, but rather the RIGHT people are your greatest asset!" Take the time to find the right people and put them in place. If you take the time now on finding the right people, you will save yourself wasted time in using the wrong people. For the most case the right people you have in place will usually NOT cost you in the time arena but rather sow back into you time left over to accomplish other things while effectively achieving their goals and purpose.

The development of your team is key to the effectiveness, results and success of achieving your goals in 2012.

Examine your processes. Are you just doing things because that's the way things have always been done? Ask yourselves, "Why are we doing it this way? Is there another way for us to do this to be more effective or is this the best way for it to get done?"

These questions will help you dig for the answers you need to change things and make a difference for the better in 2012!
